Catalog Management for Direct Sales Store for IBM WebSphere Commerce V7 FEP 7     » zur Seminarliste

This 1.5 hour web-based course is designed to introduce business professionals, the WebSphere Commerce catalog types, and the skills they need to manage their store catalogs, and core features of the Catalogs tool of Management Center that is provided by IBM WebSphere Commerce V7 Feature Pack 7.

The skills that are developed in this course enable WebSphere Commerce business users to create, and manage different store-specific business objects such as catalogs, categories, subcategories, and catalog entries with the use of Catalogs tool of the Management Center. The course also explains how the Assets, and the Commerce Composer tools are related to catalogs. It enables business users to compare the features between direct sales store, and extended sites store. In particular, the focus will be on the Catalogs, Assets, and Commerce Composer tools for catalog management.

The course begins with an overview of the catalogs. It introduces the students to WebSphere Commerce catalogs, supported by a scenario, and possible objectives for using the catalogs, and different catalog management tasks of business users such as catalog managers, product managers, and category managers. It also provides a brief description of other Management Center tools associated with catalogs. Subsequent units cover the catalog management terminology that includes category types, catalog entry, products, attributes, attribute dictionary, and many more, and how to manage catalogs, categories, catalog entry types such as products, and SKUs by using the Catalogs tool. Various units in the course provide description of how to update information. It also introduces the students the relation between catalogs and the Assets, and Commerce Composer tools. They briefly specify how the catalog management tasks in direct sales store change in extended sites store.

A scenario-based sample demonstration is provided to facilitate students to understand how to log in to the Management Center, and use various features and functions of the Catalogs, and the Assets tool of the Management Center to manage product information. The course consists of instructions that can be used to re-create demonstration tasks.
